Unrivaled quality thanks to non-contact laser motion sensor

The valid testing of detergents, washing machines and tumble dryers requires that all soiled test strips used to assess washing, cleaning and hygiene systems have consistent quality characteristics over the long term. However, many of the materials used for the test strips are sensitive to pressure and friction. If the materials are exposed to pressure or friction during the manufacturing process of the test strips or the quality inspection, light, whitish marks may appear. In textile jargon, this is referred to as "writing on the fabric".

Thanks to hundreds of thousands of test strips per year and around 1,500 major customers in almost 100 countries worldwide, Swissatest is known for the highest quality. In-house quality control of the materials plays an important role in this. Measuring devices for testing the sensitive material should therefore exert as little friction or pressure on the material as possible. To guarantee this, Swissatest relies on the SPEETEC laser surface movement sensor from SICK. Thanks to the non-contact length measurement, Swissatest ensures that the contact-sensitive test strips can be checked for defects and cut to length in a user-friendly manner during the manufacturing process. The non-contact laser sensor simplifies the manufacturing process by measuring the speed, length and position of these sensitive materials. The innovative measuring devices enable Swissatest to carefully check product quality and thus meet Swissatest's high quality standards.
